Source Text: Sanford J. Berg, 84, former owner and operator of Pulver Machinist Supp ly Co., died Thursday in Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. A l ifelong Chicago resident, Mr. Berg graduated from Northwestern Universi ty and went to work as a delivery boy for Pulver, a company run by his m other and uncles. He worked his way up to counter salesman and then too k over company operations after his uncles died. For 50 years, he owned a nd ran the business in Chicago. Relatives admired Mr. Berg for his hone sty and his devotion to family. Andrew Golding remembered how his grand father always had time to spend with him. "He was so protective of his f amily and devoted to his wife," he said. He is survived by his wife, Ed ith; two daughters, Nancy Golding and Fredi Weiss; and four grandchildr en. Private services were held.
