Hebrew name was Yhuda Labe.
Labe had a sister, Jenny, who died in Lithuania. Labe was married in Lithuania, but his wife couldn't give him any children, so they obtained a religious divorce after about 10 years.
Etta, his 2nd wife, was 17 years younger than Labe.
Labe had the largest bakery in Kovno, with 5 servants. Etta's mother, Molly Edith Mark, lived with them until her death in 1920.
According to Doris Posner Brown, daughter of Bellle Apel in a letter dated June 5, 1092, Labe was never naturalized. He was a prosperous baker. His first wife was childless. His 2nd wife, Yetta, had 10 children, one died in childbirth.

Belle Appel Posner's petition for naturalization, they left Tavrig and the family arrived on 23 March 1911 thru Philadelphia PA with family members "Laba, Yetta, Sora, Maier, Beila, Yonka." They were traveling with friends-the Pikovski family.
