Rose was born in Rechitsa District, Belarus and was the 4th child of Ida Sarah (Blumin) and Abraham Passin. She came to the USA through Ellis Island in 1913 and the family went to Sheboygan, Wisconsin where she attended school. Some years later the family moved to Chicago, where she continued some of her education until the age of 15.
She and Jack met through her sister, Dorothy (Press). They lived in Chicago until 1969 when they moved to California to be with their children and grandchildren.
Ida (Chaya) Sarah Blumin Passin, came from Russia, together with her 6 children: Hilda, Esther, Julius, Dorothy, Rose and Ben on the Ship: Carmania, departed from Liverpool, England, UK, and arrived at Ellis Island on November 24, 1913.
Family has the Passenger Record and Ship Manifest for them.
Abraham Passin had travelled to the US about a year prior.
